PROBLEM

A leading Hungarian logistical service provider needed assistance from external experts to make a successful entry into the automotive inhouse logistical market.

SOLUTION

Providing an overall professional support and representation, including the creation of a concept, number of staff and rate calculation, we worked out a complete tender for our client.

RESULT

By means of our concept and as a result of our representing them during meetings our client has won the service provider tender for serving the logistics of a 1 400-strong organisation, i.e. a factory producing 2 million engines annually.

PROBLEM

Our client wished to submit a tender for the delivery of special goods, and therefore required complex logistical advising.

SOLUTION

We assessed the feasibility of the project and fully worked out the tender, providing a Go Live management, as well.

RESULT

Our tendering client won the implementation of the project, took it over without any trouble and carried it through successfully with our assistance.

PROBLEM

Due to the lack of warehouse capacity, the proper storage of base materials of different categories and that of finished products and also the packaging of these had become increasingly difficult.

SOLUTION

In cooperation with our architect designer partner, we provided the green-field logistical planning of a new multi-functional warehouse base in a number of versions, each with a different extent of automation.

RESULT

By using the concept recommended by us the warehouse’s demand for resources has reduced by at least 10% compared to the original idea of the pharmaceutical factory.

PROBLEM

It was necessary to work out a new plan for the storage of liquid chemicals on the conditions that the new plan corresponds to a cost optimum and contains a uniform supply concept.

SOLUTION

In the plants and at the premises of the pharmaceutical factory the chemicals logistics was redesigned, the alternatives of inward and outward deliveries were assessed and the logistical costs calculated.

RESULT

A cost saving of 8% was achieved for our client in the logistics of liquid chemicals, in addition to fixing the optimal cost level of each type of liquid.

PROBLEM

With the start-up of a new manufacturing plant the demand for storage space of finished-products had increased considerably and thus the lack of storage capacity had become a barrier to increasing production.

SOLUTION

Based on the analysis of demands and taking turnover data and the groups of materials into consideration, the entire storage area was redesigned.

RESULT

The storage area organised according to our plans had become suitable for accommodating the required number of pallets and keeping the scheduled transit times.

PROBLEM

The industrial hall’s structure of our client dealing with textiles was not suitable for serving the increased turnover of goods.

SOLUTION

According to the client’s needs we had redesigned the storage and manipulation areas of the warehouse and made recommendations for further expansion.

RESULT

Based on our plans the existing storage capacity has increased by 23.9% and the length of material handling routes decreased by 64.3%.

PROBLEM

Our client built a new logistical centre as a green-field investment and also wished to use the logistical experiences available on the market in connection with starting the new centre.

SOLUTION

We made recommendations for layout development in order to increase material flow efficiency and designed a new storage place searching logics.

RESULT

Through the implementation of our recommendations we have achieved a trouble-free operation and a transparent logistical service provider efficiency.

PROBLEM

As a result of a dynamic growth, the existing production and storage area capacity of the chemical manufacturing hall had become scarce.

SOLUTION

Using simulation modelling, the logistical processes were redesigned and optimised within the existing infrastructure.

RESULT

Based on our transformation plans the storage capacity of the hall has increased by 20% and the demand for resources has decreased by 10% without infrastructural expansion.

PROBLEM

The milkrun system serving a production line in an automotive plant could keep up base material supply only by using additional resources.

SOLUTION

Using simulation, we optimised the milkrun service and then developed an independent software for the real-time control of the processes.

RESULT

Our solution has provided a delay-free line feeding process and the possibility of redesigning the milkrun concept with future changes in mind.

PROBLEM

Our client did not have a competency needed to start and manage an automotive logistical service won in a service provider tender.

SOLUTION

A project manager and a logistical engineer were provided for the live start, and the service was led by our interim manager during the full period of operating the service successfully.

RESULT

The KPI and financial expectations were over fulfilled, we had achieved the best QM result of the concern, efficiency of the staff had been growing steadily and fluctuation had been kept low.

PROBLEM

Our American partner was looking for a hardware-independent control system supplier for the single-platform operation of automated parking garages.

SOLUTION

We have developed a modular, simulation-based and sensor-controlled operative system which ensures the use of manufacturer-independent devices.

RESULT

A product package based on logistical system control logics which is suitable for designing and operating either a new or an existing automated parking garage.

PROBLEM

In a company dealing with consolidated shipments an automated parcel size detector had become necessary to minimise financial losses and improve storage space utilisation.

SOLUTION

We worked out a borderline detection algorithm which can calculate an object’s overall dimensions with a specified accuracy while the object is in movement.

RESULT

Our client can check the parcel dimensions given by customers without any loss of time and can also check the correctness of invoices and has accurate volume information for scheduling shipments.

PROBLEM

During a change of owner of a carrier and forwarder company it was necessary to review the company’s business and organisational model and improve its cost structure.

SOLUTION

The company was reorganised on the basis of our recommendations: the resources and costs were optimised, a controlling unit was set up, the contracts were reviewed and the premises were reorganised.

RESULT

Thanks to our interim management, the company that had been operating at a loss for several years, had managed to report a profit some 14 months later.
